Leader Doesn’t = Schmuck
So you want to be seen as an expert in your field, right?…but you also want to be real.
You also want to get paid what you’re worth…but you also want to be accessible…yeah?
And you also want people to respect you…but you also want to be relatable…ya feel me?
I’ve seen a lot of instructors go back and forth between these two extremes. Either they’re all business—but missing the connection piece, or they’re earnest—and not being respected.
Well I feel that you don’t need to give up either to have the other.
You can become an earnest instructor, by being firm—but in the most loving way possible. It’s less about what you do, and more about how you do it. It’s learning how to communicate with elegance – that’s the secret sauce ya’ll!
So, do you have to be a schmuck to be a leader, or a pushover to be supportive?
Nah! Just learn how to flippin speak.
Perhaps easier said than done?
What do you think?
